The image: The Orion constellation is home to many great
astronomical objects and this region off of Orion's Belt is one of the best.
The area is quite challenging to see visually. The Flame nebula is not as
challenging as the Horsehead to see in the eyepiece. Long exposure
photography unveils the beauty of the nebula with a wide color pallette.
The photograph was made with an AP130EDT and focal reducer on Nikon F3HP and
E200 slide film. Exposures were one hour each for a combined total of two
hours.
The print: The print is made with Epson ultrachrome
inks on profiled Moab Entrada 100% cotton rag paper. The print and mat board are
hand signed. The print and mat are hinge mounted to an acid free foam
core board and then packaged in a clear photographic bag. The foam core
board has the Jeff Ball seal of authenticity to ensure that
you have full access to the Jeff Ball guarantees.
