The image:   The most colorful region of the Milky Way.  The area lies on the boundary of the constellations Ophiuchus and Scorpius.  The upper blue nebula and stars are the "Rho-Ophiuchus" component.  The yellow nebulosity surrounds the bright star Antares in Scorpius.  This area is very faint and not within the capability of the human eye, even through telescopes.  The nebulosity is a mix of gas and dust that is being energized by the nearby stars which are at different stages of their stellar evolution.  This is my favorite composition in the night sky and I hope you like the image.  The image is a stack of two exposures of 70 minutes each on Kodak E200 in 120 format film.  The lens was an Astro-Physics refractor of 600mm focal length and an f-ratio of f6.  The camera was a Pentax 67.  The photograph was taken at New Mexico Skies Observatory.

The print:    The print is made with Epson ultrachrome inks on profiled Premium Luster Epson paper  The print and mat board are hand signed.  The mat is a double mat with the object information on the inside mat.  The print and mat are hinge mounted to an acid free foam core board and then packaged in a clear photographic bag.  The foam core board has the Jeff Ball seal of authenticity to ensure that you have full access to the Jeff Ball guarantees.  Prints larger than 16x20" framed will be in a limited edition and signed and numbered accordingly.  This is a great chance to pick up a fine art print with the best material and workmanship available today.  Thanks for your interest and let me know if you have any questions about the print.
