Mesa Arch is a landscape icon for the desert soutwest. The early morning light refects off of the deep canyon walls below up onto the arch and provides this most unique and intense illumination. The valley below gives that characteristic sense of awe that you experience with numerous western vistas.

This print is special to me. The image was the first panoramic I really ever attempted on my first photographic workshop with Natalie and Alain Briot. This image is facing east, but to the west at this time was one of the most spectacular sunsets I have ever witnessed. I never really captured the sunset adequately, but really enjoyed making this composition in the field and the light cooperated. I hope you enjoy the image of this very special location.
